Highland Park Conservative Temple To Hold Talk on National Library of Israel’s Collections and Wartime Effort

The Raritan Valley Chapter of Hadassah and the Sisterhood of Highland Park Conservative Temple invite community members to a talk by Adina Kanefield, the CEO of National Library of Israel, USA, on “The National Library of Israel’s Collections and Wartime Effort.” The talk will be held on Tuesday, March 5 at 8 p.m. at the Highland Park Conservative Temple, 201 South 3rd Ave., and will be preceded by an opportunity to view an exhibit of treasures from the library.

The National Library of Israel (NLI) opened its new building on Oct. 29 in the midst of the war and quickly pivoted to reviving the soul and spirit of the country. Kanefield will take attendees on a journey through the library’s collections and treasures, highlighting along the way the rich history and culture of Israel and the Jewish people. She will also report on the library’s efforts to document Oct. 7 and its aftermath, as well as NLI’s efforts to support Israelis and the Jewish community across the globe during the war.
