More than 40 people from Synagogue of the Suburban Torah Center in Livingston came out last Wednesday night for the first of two workshops focusing on Hilchos Shabbos. Taught by Rabbi Yaakov Feit from the Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy, “Iron Chef—Shabbat Edition” was a hands-on workshop that reviewed the laws of bishul—cooking—and what constitutes cooking. The second “Iron Chef” class will delve into the practical aspects of reheating foods and using the blech.
