The Gross Center for Holocaust & Genocide Studies at Ramapo College of New Jersey and the Rabbi Israel S. Dresner Memorial Library & Lecture Series of Temple Beth Tikvah presents “Holocaust Restitution and Reparations: Past and Future Challenges” featuring Dr. Avi Weber. The program will take place on Monday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Wayne YMCA, 1 Pike Drive, Wayne, New Jersey.
Weber holds a PhD in German social law and two master’s degrees in the legal field, one from Humboldt University in Berlin and one from Tel Aviv University. Since 2005, he has served on the Knesset’s Special Expert Committee for Rights of Survivors, and since 2008, as an external advisor to the Ministry for Social Equality in Israel. Weber focuses primarily on the Holocaust, compensation law (German and international), and the effects of the Holocaust on international humanitarian law.
