Honoring Israel’s Fallen on Yom Hazikaron at RKYHS and JKHA

JKHA middle school and RKYHS marked Yom Hazikaron with thoughtful programming to remember and honor Israel’s fallen. Throughout the day, middle school and RKYHS students took part in presentations that gave meaning to the day and honored the memory of the lives lost. Using photos, music, videos, personal accounts from family members and biographical accounts, the memorial programs personalized and brought to life the names of soldiers and victims of terror that paid the ultimate sacrifice for the State of Israel.

The day was made personal for the students as each middle school class was dedicated to a specific soldier, with each class beginning their session by hearing about their lives. High school students signed up to perform mitzvot and dedicate their Torah learning in honor and in memory of fallen IDF soldiers throughout the decades.

Lower school students took the opportunity to say thank you through cards and artwork, to the members of the IDF who work to protect the Land of Israel.
