Hundreds in the Community Attend Kaplen JCC on the Palisades Free Open House

Hundreds of people throughout Bergen County flocked to the JCC for its annual Open House on Sunday, September 14, where everyone who attended was a JCC “guest for the day.” New and prospective members toured the facility, swam in the pools, worked out in the adult and youth fitness centers, attended sample classes, and met with JCC staff to learn about all the exciting programs that the JCC offers.

“Our goal was to showcase the benefits of JCC membership and the day was more successful than ever,” says Membership Director Robbie Fried. “We are a welcoming social service agency and the best place around when it comes to everything from kids programs to cultural events to health and fitness, and after highlighting our offerings, dozens of families signed up as members. Seeing is believing, and when people witness firsthand what we are about and decide to join, it’s a testament to us that that we are meeting our community’s expectations. And that’s a great feeling.”

Adding to the fun of the day were Music School and School of Performing Arts showcases, entertainment for children, including a moon bounce, face painting and balloonologists, health and fitness related activities, and more.

The JCC maintains state-of-the-art facilities and offers a wide range of programs and services, including outdoor water park and pools, year-round indoor pools, CPR-trained swim instructors and lessons for all ages, state-of-the-art adult fitness center, a luxurious spa, more than 70 free group exercise classes; free orientation and fitness assessments, basketball, racquetball and tennis courts, day care, infant and toddler programs and nursery school, Neil Klatskin Day Camp, a Teen Youth Fitness Center and exercise classes for ages 6-13, educational and leisure programs for adults, “JCC U,” featuring art, culture, education and health programs led by experts in their fields, the Thurnauer School of Music (designated a Major Arts Institution by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts), the JCC School of Performing Arts and more.
