There is an exciting boys and separate girls post-summer basketball program being run by Hustle & Heart Sports taking place at the end of August. H&H’s mission is to enhance Jewish basketball and foster the growth and development of Jewish basketball players both on and off the court.
Players entering fifth through 12th grade will have the opportunity to train and learn from some of the top basketball coaches and role models. The boys camp director is a Teaneck native and yeshiva league legend Yisrael Feld. Boys staff members joining Feld this summer include Moshe Cohen, coach of HAFTR and DRS; Michael Courtney, coach of SAR; and Yogev Berdugo, owner and director of Step It Up Basketball and former assistant coach at Yeshiva University.
Shana Steinmetz, former coach of Central and HANC and current Camp Morasha basketball pro, is the girls camp director. Girls staff members joining Steinmetz include Lisa Fogel, coach of HAFTR and guidance counselor at SKA; Ariela Herman, coach of Noam and associate professor of physical education at Queens College and sports director at Camp Shoshanim; Leora Penn, coach of YCQ and Central; and Jelleah Sidney, coach of HAFTR.
Hustle & Heart invites all players who are looking to improve their game and compete against the top talent in and around the league to join this elite four day intensive basketball camp experience. The program will be filled with clinics, drills, league games, tournaments, skill contests and much more. The program will take place on the beautiful grounds of Camp Morasha, and looks to provide a frum, wholesome and meaningful experience that is certain to raise each player towards his or her greatest potential.
The boys camp launches on the back of a very successful girls camp in 2017. The boys camp will take place Sunday August 19 through Wednesday August 22, and the girls basketball camp will take place from Tuesday August 21 through Friday August 24.
