IDF Raids Palestinian Media Outlets in ‘Large-Scale Operation’ Against Incitement

(JNS.org) The IDF, in a joint operation with Israel’s Shin Bet security agency and Civil Administration, raided the offices of eight Palestinian media outlets in Judea and Samaria Tuesday night, amid a broad security crackdown against incitement to terror.

Palestinian media reported that the offices raided included the Hebron-based Al-Quds Channel, Trans Media in Hebron and Nablus, Pal Media in Bethlehem and Ramallah, and the Al-Aqsa and Palestine Alyoum broadcasters in Ramallah.

The IDF confiscated documents and equipment in the raids, and shuttered the offices of Ramasat, Pal Media and Trans Media. Two Palestinian suspects were detained for further questioning.

The Israeli military “searched a number of media and production offices suspected of broadcasting inciting content, encouraging, celebrating and promoting violence and terrorism against Israelis,” an IDF spokesperson told AFP.

The spokesperson called the raid a “large-scale operation,” and said the Al-Aqsa and Al-Quds TV channels are “illegal organizations” affiliated with Gaza-ruling Palestinian terror group Hamas.

In July, the IDF raided the offices of a Palestinian radio station in Ramallah, citing incitement to terrorism.

with the Middle East Quartet principles. The Israeli government also called on Hamas to sever ties with Iran, one of its top patrons.
