What was it like for immigrants at Ellis Island? What did they feel? What was the process? Fourth graders have been exploring this question as a culmination of their unit on immigration. To bring it all together, students put on a mock Ellis Island, with half the students serving as immigrants and the other half immigration officers. Hands-on learning at its best!
