The Inbal Jerusalem Hotel will launch is third annual soup festival pop-up concept restaurant. The rich, all-you-can-eat soup buffet runs from November through April at the Inbal’s Sophia Cafe and costs 65 NIS per person. For the first time, the menu will now offer guests some dairy-free and gluten-free soup options catering to those with specific dietary requirements. The pop-up is open to hotel guests as well as the general public. The Festival Opening hours are Sunday-Thursday from noon until 10 p.m.
The Inbal’s Soup Festival is the brainchild of its executive chef, Nir Elkayam who shares a variety of soups from his mother’s recipe box, passed down through generations of his family, for guests’ enjoyment. Minestrone soup, onion soup and mushroom soup are just a few of the delicious soup options. Soups change every day. The soup festival also offers different toppings and garnishes such as cheeses, croutons and fresh herbs, allowing guests to personalize their individual bowls.
Reminiscing on winters in his own childhood, where he would return home to a delicious heartwarming bowl of soup, Elkayam hopes to provide the same to the guests he adores at the Inbal. “Following the successes of two past soup festivals, this year’s festival promises to warm both guests and locals throughout the chilly Jerusalem winter, with old favorites and new flavors. We are adding some options for those with dietary restrictions to serve an even broader array of guest this season,” said Rony Timsit, general manager of the Inbal Jerusalem Hotel. “Chef Nir Elkayam uses the finest and freshest ingredients and brings his own unique vision to his family’s recipes.”
