When the playoffs began, very few would have bet on the Phillies winning the coveted PAL Bronco Championship. Finishing in the number three spot, they would have to defeat the second seeded Cubs and the number one Mets to take home the championship. This would be a daunting task at full strength, but when slugger Shmuel Gopin found himself on the disabled list, the Phillie faithful were not feeling optimistic.
Boy were they wrong, these boys accomplished the unlikely. They knocked off the cubs and defeated the Mets 6-3, to take home the trophy.
The Phillies were led by the dominant pitching duo of, Akiva Feit and Ari Katz. Clutch hits from clean up hitter Jake Rothenberg, and timely hitting by the meat of the lineup (Elliot Eisner, Avraham Zev Sobolofsky, Yehuda Saks, and Ephraim Greenberg). The stellar defense of Yaakov Saks, Daniel Gopin and Doni Recht combined with the talented coaching of Marc Rothenberg and Yitz Feit, Making this a true team victory
