Do you really think that after a decade of planning the demise of Israel, the development of nuclear missiles, and the undermining of the democracy of the United States, Iran is going to give up their goals. That is like Russia accepting a defeat from Ukraine. Those tunnels were not designed for a state of the art subway system. The quest for a nuclear weapon is not for peaceful purposes. And the invasion of the college campuses is nothing more than an attempt to control the future of a democratic America.

Unless America recognizes the ultimate threat that Iran has developed so carefully, we will be faced with a catastrophe of epic proportions. While Israelis have no choice but to defend themselves against the existential threat to their country, the threat has morphed into a threat to Jews all over the world. What did the world expect Israel to do after Oct. 7? Has Iran stopped financing the terrorists? Has Hamas freed all the hostages? Despite all the millions poured into Jewish organizations, antisemitism has gotten worse. Do you really think that Jewish billionaires contribute as much as they could for Jewish survival? Do you think that leading Jewish politicians like Bernie Sanders or Chuck Schumer do all they can to protect the Jewish people?

And how much good did the “second gentleman,” Doug Emhoff, do for the Jewish people? Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. should probably be turning in his grave if he knew how little help the Black population has given to the Jews. Jewish support for the NAACP, Black colleges, civil rights, and Black Lives Matter was a significant part of what American Jews did to help ameliorate the struggles of Black America.

Not all Jews were saints when it came to Blacks, but there were enough angels that found a kinship with the struggle of Black America. There were enough Jews who gave their lives and their money to demonstrate that “Black lives matter.” How many Blacks descended on the college campuses to protect Jews? How many Blacks have joined the protestors? And how many Blacks recognize how Jews have paved the way for them … like Whoopi Goldberg?

The Abraham Accords should demonstrate that the descendants of Abraham, and that would include Jews, Christians and Muslims, can find a better way than war. The question is, “Is it too late?” Have we strayed from the values given on Mount Sinai?

Are prayers not enough to stop the worship of death over life? Have the bad guys finally won? Up to this point we have survived natural disasters and man-made destruction. “In God We Trust” is really being tested now. Can we trust the future of mankind in the hands of mankind?
