Israel Confirms Hamas No. 3 Killed in March 9 Airstrike

(JNS) The Israel Defense Forces on Tuesday, March 26 confirmed reports that Marwan Issa, the deputy head of Hamas’s military wing, was killed in an airstrike in Gaza earlier this month.

“I can confirm that, according to our intelligence…Marwan Issa was killed in an attack that we carried out some two weeks ago, alongside Ghazi Abu Tama’a,” said IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari.

Abu Tama’a, a former head of Hamas’s Central Camps Brigade, was tasked with guarding the terror group’s entire arsenal.

Last week, U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told reporters during a briefing in Washington that Issa had been killed in an Israeli operation.

“The rest of the top leaders are in hiding, likely deep in the Hamas tunnel network, and justice will come for them too. We are helping to ensure that,” added Sullivan.

Hamas had privately confirmed Issa’s death, Palestinian sources told Kan News, adding that the top terrorist was hiding in a tunnel when he was killed and that his body was still buried beneath the rubble.
