Yeshiva University and MTA are among the few organizations that have marched every year since the parade’s inception in 1964. This year was no different, and among the thousands of participants were hundreds of MTA students who proudly marched throughout the afternoon to demonstrate their passion for Israel.
While I typically march with the Yeshiva University/MTA delegation, this year I was asked to participate alongside the parade’s dignitaries. I was privileged to march with New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, Israeli Ambassador Ido Aharoni, Israeli Government Spokesperson Shahar Azani, Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister Tzachi Hanegbi, Israel’s Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon, and Knesset Member Rabbi Dov Lipman.
To end off the day, fellow students Shaya Kestenbaum, Natanel Niazoff, and I were invited to attend the Israeli Consulate’s annual celebration featuring Congressman Eliot Engel, Ambassador Ido Aharoni, and comedian Elon Gold, also a YUHSB graduate.
The entire day was truly remarkable, and it is so meaningful to celebrate the State of Israel with friends and family by your side.
