Let me understand this: Hamas (yemach sh’mo) kills over 1,200 Israelis (H”YD) and takes over 200 hostages and world silence reigns supreme. (It should be noted that for years Hamas has taken the Palestinian residents of Gaza hostage: abusing or killing dissenters, using schools and hospitals as headquarters, etc. Again silence!
Israel responds to these heinous attacks and only then does the world scream bloody murder. The UN goes from benign neglect to loud condemnation—of Israel! The International Red Cross even refuses to deliver medical supplies to Israeli hostages. Silence! Unspeakable horrors foisted upon captive hostages—silence!
Now Iran (nee Persia) whose mullah “leadership” has enslaved its own people, attacks Israel with over 300 various and sundry missiles and drones—and again, silence! Or should I say “Team Iraq” to include its various proxies in the region. Either way, silence!
Imagine if you will, an attack of similar magnitude foisted upon the U.K., Germany, France, Italy or the United States. It would be a “Three Musketeers” moment—“all for one and one for all!” Fortunately, Israel has both technical and military superiority. I remember visiting an Iron Dome facility back in 2017. Israel spends a disproportionate share of its resources defending itself—ayn brairah (There is no other choice). Nonetheless, Israel’s contributions to medicine, agriculture, communications, etc. are disproportionate given its small size. Today, the world is concerned only with how Israel will respond. Will Israel properly defend itself by compromising Iran’s ability to attack again?
Not all is silent. There is a well-orchestrated, well-funded, anti-Israel public relations campaign flourishing in the media and on campus.
