Last week, Moriah’s shlichot from Israel, Hadar and Hodaya, ran an Israeli-style cafe where lower school students had an opportunity to “purchase” milkshakes and pastries which they enjoyed while reading Hebrew magazines and listening to Israeli music. To prepare, teachers reviewed relevant vocabulary with their classes as all ordering, payment and other transactions were conducted completely in Hebrew. Programs like Cafe Aroma help the students with their skills in conversational Hebrew by providing a real-life environment where they can use the skills learned in the classroom in the real world.
