It’s Color War at Moriah Middle School

Last week was a whirlwind in the Moriah middle school with the breakout of color war 2019! This year’s teams were Kavod Shabbos (blue) and Oneg Shabbos (yellow). As soon as the captains and leaders were announced, the students hit the ground running to prepare for their competitions. On Wednesday, small groups of students began working hard to create the banners, songs, stomps and choirs to be presented during Friday’s finale. The rest of the students began prepping their chulents for the next day’s cholent cook-off. The cholent tasting included 12 varieties each with their own flavor, pre-Shabbos ruach music, divrei Torah and a review of the order of brachot to be made when eating the cholent.

Thursday and Friday were full of fantastic activities including Hungry Hungry Hippo, The Great Debate, Simon Sez, Crazy Dodgeball, Lip Sync Battle, Talent Show and special Pi Day games in honor of March 14. The students all had a chance to participate and share their multiple talents in art, dance, trivia, debate, Torah, sports, music and more. The achdut of all of the students working together while giving their individual talents a chance to shine is what it is really all about!

After two days of strong but friendly competition, team blue came out victorious in Moriah color war 2019. Kol hakavod to both team Kavod Shabbos and team Oneg Shabbos!
