(SAR sports) There’s a lot more to an athlete’s life than just playing the game. The SAR HS Sports Management Club had the honor of hosting Jared Zwerling, sports enthusiast and sports management virtuoso. As founder and president of CloseUp360, Zwerling runs an Emmy nominated media platform and production company focused on NBA players, star athletes and sports insiders, and their impact beyond the game. He discussed with the club members what it is like making documentaries for players and explained that his work focuses on boosting players’ brands. Sophomore Benjy S., co-club leader, along with Ariel B., and Noah R., said, “It was invaluable to get a better understanding of how much more there is to a player’s life outside of their sport.” The club looks forward to hosting more sports management insiders at future meetings.
