Marilyn and Lester Bornstein, Flo Peck and Family and Amelia and Cory Perlstein to Be Honored
West Orange—Marilyn and Lester Bornstein, Flo Peck and family and Amelia and Cory Perlstein will be the distinguished honorees at JCC MetroWest’s L’Dor V’dor (from Generation to Generation) Gala on Thursday, June 23, at 6:30 p.m. at Crystal Plaza, Livingston, NJ. This year, JCC MetroWest is thrilled to be celebrating three generations of leadership. The Bornsteins, Pecks and Perlsteins will be recognized for touching so many lives through their dedication to the MetroWest Jewish community and committed service to JCC MetroWest.
The Bornsteins (West Orange, NJ) have been active in the local Jewish community for many years. Lester was a founder of the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey, which has provided funding for many critical projects at JCC MetroWest and in the greater community. Marilyn, a fixture in the JCC’s Lifelong Learning program, is also a published author, having been bitten by the writing bug in a JCC creative writing class.
Flo Peck, of blessed memory, was the gatekeeper of the JCC for 23 years, serving as Executive Assistant to four different JCC Executive Directors. Flo was the embodiment of JCC organizational history, had the answer to every question and was the “secret sauce” that streamlined all tasks. The Peck Family (Montville, NJ), in Flo’s memory, has made a leadership gift for the new JCC Camp Deeny Riback aquatics center.
Amelia and Cory Perlstein (Livingston, NJ) have already distinguished themselves as members of the next generation of JCC superstars. Amelia, a JCC Board member and graduate of the Jewish Federation’s Arthur Borinsky Young Leadership Development Program, serves on the Executive Committee of the JCC Board of Trustees and has worked tirelessly guiding many key JCC committees.
L’Dor V’Dor, the passing of leadership from one generation to the next, will be celebrated in the context of the JCC’s role in every stage of life from early childhood through senior adulthood. JCC MetroWest reaches approximately 50,000 individuals each year through early childhood programs, programs for senior adults and special needs individuals, summer camps, fitness and wellness programs, sports and recreation, community-wide events, Jewish education, theater and the arts.
Tickets for the Gala are $180 per person. Dietary laws will be observed.
