(Courtesy of JCC MetroWest) Members of the JCC MetroWest community came together at the J in West Orange on the evening of May 10 to celebrate Stuart Raynor’s service as chief executive officer of the JCC MetroWest community and kick-off its scholarship campaign.
JCC MetroWest Board Trustee and Development Chair Larry Rein introduced the campaign. “This campaign seeks to raise $250,000 to make sure that every JCC MetroWest community member who needs a scholarship gets a scholarship,” said Rein.
“JCC MetroWest provides over $250,000 in scholarships each year to children, teens and older adults that enables each person to participate in a wide variety of our programs, including our early childhood center, our after-school program, our summer camps, and a variety of adult activities including our center for memory impairment,” said Raynor. “Beginning tonight, I am excited to announce that the Eve & Joel J. Schwarz Memorial Endowment Fund will match all donations 1:1. So every $100 will become $200, every $500 will become $1000 up to $40,000! So please give.”
“We are excited to have multifaceted American jazz pianist and composer Emmet Cohen with us tonight and I want to thank our JCC members and supporters Joni and Alan Cohen, for making this concert possible,” said Stuart Raynor.
During the celebration, the J received commitments totaling more than $30,000. The goal is to make sure that financial constraints never prevent members from experiencing the services they need.
