JEC’s fourth and fifth graders joined Bris Avrohom of Hillside at Newark Airport Thursday December 19 for a pre-Chanukah candle lighting. The students made such a Kiddush Hashem as they sang Chanukah songs and spread light to so many passersby! They were able to experience the “power of words” (this year’s theme) through song and cheer. The students enjoyed delicious donuts and received Chanukah gelt! They enjoyed hearing divrei Torah from Rabbi Avremy Kanelsky and words of inspiration from Elizabeth’s Mayor J. Christian Bollwage. Thank you to Mr. Golombeck for leading the students in song, and thanks to Bris Avrohom for inviting them to share in this fun and meaningful experience.
