On Taanit Esther, students at the JEC Lower School dedicated their day to acts of kindness through a meaningful Yom Chesed program. In a program led by Kayla Koyfman, LMSW, JEC students packaged 250 Mishloach Manot for Jewish Family Services (JFS), to be distributed on Purim day to Toby Goldberger Kosher Meals on Wheels Program participants. Students also decorated gift bags for Israeli soldiers through the “Beef Up Our Boys” initiative. The fourth grade girls concluded the day with a heartwarming visit to JFS and an enthusiastic performance of their Purim play for Holocaust survivors, their caregivers and JFS volunteers and staff.
The event was a beautiful reminder of the power of kindness, giving to others and the spirit of Purim. Thank you to the JEC and JFS staff for coordinating an incredible day!
