After learning about the strength of triangles and the important role a triangle plays in bridge design, 5B faced a design challenge of their own. Using only 30 straws and three feet of tape, they needed to construct a bridge that would span eight inches and hold marbles measured in increments of 20. After carefully thinking about the successful bridge designs they had studied, planning out their bridges, they were able to test out their bridges. The strongest bridge held 240 marbles!
