This past week the JEC was fortunate enough to have expert sommelier, Jay Buchsbaum of Kedem Wines, visit for a demonstration for the whole Early Childhood. Buchsbaum, aka Zeide to early childhood students Olivia and Nate Buchsbaum, showed the children highlights of the wine-making process. The children got to squeeze red and green grapes and drink the juice! The children learned that grapes grow on a vine, the different brachot for grapes, grape juice or wine, and that the color of the wine is determined by the color of the skin on the grape. They all learned so much and it made their arbah kosot on Pesach extra special!
