The eighth grader boys in Mr. Garcia’s class saw what the different types of homogeneous and heterogeneous mixtures look like. The boys learned first hand how they are formed, as they combined ordinary kitchen items like flour, coffee, sugar and water. They labeled each of their mixtures and submitted and grouped their data. This was a fun, simple, hands-on experiment that will lead to future experiential learning!
