Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

The sweetness of the new year is already upon us! The JEC Lower School had two wonderful programs about bees. The early childhood had a visit from Beekeeper Cliff. He brought along so many fascinating displays—a real honeycomb swarming with bees, a beekeepers protective suit and more. The children got to experience how bees see by using special goggles and how a beekeeper’s mitts feel. What a great hands-on experience!

Did you know that bees won’t sting unless they feel threatened? Did you know that not all honey tastes the same? Students in grades two, three and four know that after touring a honey farm in Israel—via Skype!
