JEC students enjoyed their first in-person, distanced oneg last week! They sang classic songs, watched a video recap of Cheshvan and received a message of chizuk from community leaders inspiring students to be involved in community outreach! Following the oneg, teachers were inspired to take these messages and put them into action. Morah Sashi’s first graders drew cards for Holocaust survivors in the community to deliver through Jewish Family Service. Mrs. Cantor’s second graders discussed ways that they were involved in their own communities, and Rabbi Pietruszka’s fourth graders began a student-centered parsha project. They created a parsha newsletter to hand out to the entire student body. These messages of kehilla are being implemented into everything at JEC as the school focuses on this important message in the months of Kislev and Tevet!
