To wrap up their unit on the Revolutionary War, JEC students played a board game that simulated a spy mission. In order to advance in the game and complete their mission, each team was responsible for answering trivia questions about the Road to the Revolution and the Revolutionary War. When they reached the end of the mission they had one final task—to decode and deliver a message to George Washington. The message was written in cipher code, just like the Culper Spy Ring. This aspect of the game brought to life the various ways the spies passed and received messages while on missions.
