On Taanit Esther, JEC had a very meaningful Yom Chesed throughout Early Childhood, Lower School and Middle Schools. This year, students participated in a kehilla-wide Refuah Chesed Project. Community members were tasked with submitting names of cholim to whom this project could be dedicated. Each division partook in one aspect of this special project. Students decorated and packed mishloach manot for elderly neighbors at Jewish Family Service. Early Childhood students decorated beautiful masks to place in the bags. First and second grade students decorated mishloach manot bags with purim-themed designs. Third through fifth grade students wrote letters and packed the mishloach manot and got them ready for distribution. Middle Schoolers hand delivered these bags to the JFS food pantry. With an extra focus on community building this year at JEC, it was particularly special to dedicate this project to community members in need of tefillot. This was a beautiful way to end the jam-packed Adar programming schedule. Thank you to all the sponsors for enabling this very special project!
