Growth is a byproduct of reflection, assessment and change. To that end, this week, JEC High School held its annual student-teacher conferences. For some reason, it is generally only parents who get the opportunity to meet with teachers to discuss progress and plans for improvement. At JEC though, students become owners of this process as well. As they sat together, one-on-one with each of their teachers, all students had time to engage in conversations about their performance so far. They discussed accomplishments and strengths, as well as areas that need more attention. Through this process, these young men can sit in the driver’s seat of their own experiences and learn to plan for growth and success.
