Always an important event to kick off each year, JEC held its annual freshman/senior luncheon this past week. Seniors, newly invigorated by their role as the school’s elder statesmen and most experienced residents, introduced themselves to the new ninth graders, easing them into the next stage of their academic careers and working to relax some of the anxiety that the new high school environment can create. Director of Guidance Dr. Akiva Perlman led a meaningful discussion about transitioning into new places and experiences, something all high school students struggle with. The boys then enjoyed getting to know each other, creating relationships and bonds that will grow over the course of the year. Many students credit these connections with helping them find their way around the new environment and are excited to share that with new freshmen when it is their turn.
