Every Monday and Thursday before davening, students at the JEC High School meet with their rebbeim in chaburot to discuss the meaning and power of tefillah.
During this time, the chaburot engage in deep dialogue surrounding questions of why we daven, how we encounter the thought of not being answered and what it means to speak to Hashem. Chaburot use prepared texts, stories and individual experiences to provide structure to the learning that is designed to inspire greater connection in tefillah.
“Davening is a completely different experience when there is true inner meaning,” said Principal Rabbi Ami Neuman. “These chaburot empower students to be more engaged in their tefillah and better prepared in their daily encounters with Hashem.”
