Last Friday, JEC students were recognized for their being elected to two very special societies. The National Honor Society counts as its members those students who have excelled in their classes and have demonstrated acts of kindness and community service.
Years ago, JEC launched its own “society,” a cadre of students who “live to give” and who have demonstrated chesed and sacrifice for others. The Segulah Honor Society is for students who go above and beyond in the hours spent giving back to the community throughout the school year.
The induction ceremony featured a special guest lecture from Rabbi Steven Miodownik, rav of Congregation Ahavas Achim in Highland Park.
