JEC High School Wins Robotics Tournament

Last week featured was the 2019 CIJE National Robotics Challenge. A dozen yeshiva high schools came together at HAFTR where students were challenged to design and build a robot from a box of metal parts and a few motors. The robots were then placed into a field of play. Teams earned points by having their robots make baskets, and stack and place cubes around the arena. The robots had to be designed to withstand multiple rounds of play and undergo consistent, real-time adjustments in order to succeed.

The JEC team spent hours hard at work to build their robot, affectionately known as Husky. This robot was durable and able to lift multiple cubes at once, stack them and even had an extra extension arm to enable the team to reach the highest baskets successfully.

The JEC team took home the gold, winning the entire tournament as their robot went undefeated throughout. Congratulations to Aryeh Sheinson (‘20), Hanania Kraemer (‘21), Moshe Klavan (‘22), Ari Bialik (‘23), and Yitzy Loew (‘23) on a job well done!
