This year’s Shabbat mevarchim onegs feature some amazing JEC traditions as well as some new exciting initiatives to the program. The children have come to love singing the school song and other inspirational tunes. They look forward to the feeling of coming together as a unified school. This year, an added feature to the oneg is the introduction of the Midah of the Month! When the new midah is rolled out, the children receive a new colorful midah bracelet and they are introduced to the midah through various fun and exciting ways. With Thanksgiving and Chanukah right around the corner, the theme of hakarat hatov was an obvious choice for the month of Kislev. The fifth grade girls made a video to introduce the midah to the school. This is one of many upcoming activities centered around hakarat hatov!
