Ms. Gooch’s ninth grade physcial science class conducted a lab that utilizes marbles, ramps and tubes to better understand the concept of velocity and its relationship with distance and time. By conducting experiments with marbles rolling down inclined ramps and through tubes, students gathered data on the time it takes for the marble to travel a certain distance, ultimately calculating the velocity of the marble. This lab serves as a hands-on way to demonstrate and explore the relationship between distance, time and velocity, allowing students to gain a deeper understanding of these scientific concepts.
