JEC JV Thunder Defeats TABC in Overtime Thriller

This past Wednesday, the JEC Thunder defeated the TABC Storm in a closely contested JV basketball divisional matchup. In a hard-fought game throughout, both teams were looking to gain an advantage in the playoff race.

The third quarter ended with JEC ahead by six points on Dovid Rozezadeh’s strong drive to the basket with only seconds remaining. In the fourth, JEC’s lead grew to 10 points behind the strong play of Hillel Glick, Yosef Sandler, Ethan Thurm and Ben-Zion Kapustin. However TABC would not go down quietly. With five minutes to go, they began to slowly chip away at the JEC lead. Both teams traded baskets and ended up tied at the close of regulation. Throughout overtime both teams slowed down the game, not wanting to allow the other team to have a chance to score. The Storm was up one with under 20 seconds to go, and the ball was in Dovid Rozezadeh’s hands. He drove through the TABC defense and converted on a difficult layup to give JEC an exciting 47-46 exciting win!
