Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

The JEC Lower School observed the anniversary of October 7 in many incredibly meaningful ways. Students arrived at school wearing blue and white to express their love and support for the state of Israel. Third through fifth grade students began the school day by uniting with day school students across many states via Zoom for a morning of tefillah and chizuk. Following davening, students from both early childhood and lower school divisions decorated special mi shaberach cards. In the afternoon, lower school students participated in inter-grade learning, where younger classes spent time with older grades, learning about the special topic of ahavat yisrael. The day culminated in a moving and heartfelt kumzitz with the entire JEC student body. In keeping with the theme of the year, Power of Words, students were introduced to this month’s very timely theme, Power of Prayer. The JEC community continues to daven each day for the safe return of our hostages and the continued safety of our beloved homeland.
