The JEC Lower School’s second grade knew that they were destined for an extra special experience as their school bus crossed into Pennsylvania, after travelling for almost an hour.
Their destination: The Crayola Factory in Easton, Pennsylvania.
With more than a dozen interactive exhibits, students tried their hands at crayon making, color mixing and experimentation on the innovative Inside Out glass wall, coloring in the dark using fluorescent lighting and a workshop where they got to melt actual crayons and use their creativity to craft new objects from the wax.
Students were treated to a lesson on the history and evolution of crayons, as well as Crayola’s other offerings, and were amazed to learn so much about something colorful that they love to use every day.
