JEC Lower School Students Master Their Brachot

JEC Kehilati Brachot Bee was a huge success! Lower School students were tasked with learning many brachot throughout the month of Shevat and Adar. All students in grades one through five had the opportunity to participate in a three-part competition. First and second graders partook in an in-class brachot bee which had two winners from each class. In-class finalists in grades three through five competed as teams of two and represented their class in a two part competition. Everyone gathered for the first socially distanced assembly in the gym to cheer their friends on! The first part of the grand finale took place on Kahoot. Finalists were asked to answer questions related to brachot on food, smells after brachot and various interesting situations. For the final round, students were asked to recite the reviewed brachot out loud.

Mazal tov to all the finalists: Eliana Starr, Meira Marcus, Akiva Hyman, Jakey Pinsker, Shaindy Feuerstein, Leah Fischweicher, Tali Lasker, Abby Yablon, David Shimon Rozehzadeh and Eli Reich. A special mazal tov to winners in first and second grade: Penina Rockoff, Abby Silverstein, Shira Czarka, Yehuda Mayefsky, Tamar Bleicher, Aaron Gavriel Alayev, Akiva Moradi, Shua Ezra and the winners of Team 4B: Joey Krausz and Zev Rosen. All Lower School students received yummy cupcakes as a recognition of their brachot review! Kol hakavod to all!
