The JEC Middle School sent multiple teams of students to CIJE Innovation Day to participate in the first annual CIJE Middle School Engineering Challenge. Each team was given a box of materials and tasked with building a structure that could withstand different stressors. Each group worked hard and came up with their own unique design that fit within the parameters of the competition. After completing the challenge, the students enjoyed a pizza lunch while their structures were judged. Students then enjoyed a stimulating scavenger hunt that led them through the multitude of high school projects on display at the event. A special congratulations to Gavi Ness, Moshe Shapiro and Eitan Speyer for winning third place in the engineering competition and to Eitan Romanoff, Aaron Schwartz and Aryeh Shulman for securing second place in the scavenger hunt!
