Ms. Twersky’s fourth grade students at JEC recently wrapped up an author study on Andrew Clements. Students enjoyed reading “Frindle,” “The Janitor’s Boy” or “The Report Card” and answering questions with partners. In conjunction with this unit, students worked on figurative language, context clues and citing evidence from text. As a finale for the unit, students completed a mini book report detailing their favorite part of the book, a character they would want to be friends with, and whether or not they would recommend their book to a friend.
