Jenni Levy Kicks Off Campaign for Teaneck Board of Education

(Courtesy of Jennifer E. Levy for Teaneck BOE) On Thursday, September 5, Jennifer “Jenni” Levy, candidate for the Teaneck Board of Education, officially launched her campaign during a well-attended wine-tasting meet and greet hosted by Lee and Marcia Weinblatt in the backyard of their residence. The event, which took place from 7 – 9:30 p.m., featured heartfelt remarks from former student Mo Max and colleague James Wolff, both of whom highlighted Levy’s commitment to education, her extensive career, and her dedication to the community.

The evening’s master of ceremonies, Jack Terhune, praised Levy’s diverse accomplishments as a former educator, principal, and current attorney specializing in school law, personal injury law and family law. He emphasized that Levy’s unique experiences make her an ideal candidate for the Teaneck Board of Education.

“I believe deeply in the power of education and our community,” said Levy during her speech. “We need leadership that empowers our principals and teachers, not micromanages them. Our district should be a place where every child is lifted to their fullest potential, where educators and parents are true partners, and where every dollar we spend is directed toward our students’ success.”

A parent of a special needs child who has attended Teaneck schools, Levy expressed her personal connection to the district’s challenges and opportunities. She spoke passionately about the need for more support, collaboration and transparency in the district to ensure that all students are equipped to succeed.

“There’s too much division between those who send their children to public schools and those who choose private schools,” Levy noted. “It’s time we bridge this gap and work together to find creative solutions that support all of our families.”

With over 20 years of experience as an educator and principal, and now as an attorney, Levy is uniquely positioned to bring a balanced and insightful approach to the Board of Education. Her campaign focuses on early literacy, improving collaboration between educators and families, and ensuring accountability in budget allocations.

The event marked a strong start to her campaign, leaving attendees inspired and optimistic about the future of Teaneck’s schools. As Levy concluded, “Together, we can make our district the best it can be for every child, for every family, and for every educator.”
