Jewish Community Forum of Raritan Valley to Host ‘An Archaeologist Reevaluates Destruction In Light of Oct. 7’ This Motzei Shabbat

Join The Jewish Community Forum of Raritan Valley this Saturday night, February 22 at 8:30 p.m. as Jill Katz, PhD, Yeshiva University clinical professor of archaeology, presents “An Archaeologist Reevaluates Destruction in Light of October 7” at Congregation Etz Ahaim, 230 Denison Street Highland Park.

Katz has been teaching archaeology, anthropology and Jewish history at Yeshiva University since 2003. She also serves as chair of the sociology department and an academic adviser. With a specialty in biblical archaeology, she has excavated at various sites in Israel, including Ashkelon, Gerar, Gath and Jerusalem (Ophel). Her research focuses on biblical peoples (Canaanites, Israelites, and Philistines) and their interactions. She is the author of “The Archaeology of Cult in Middle Bronze Age Canaan.”
