(Courtesy of JEP) The Jewish Education Project is accepting nominations for the 2025 Robert M. Sherman Young Pioneers Award, which recognizes five Jewish educators age 40 and under in Metro New York (the five boroughs, Westchester and Long Island). Applications and nominations are due by Jan. 31, 2025.
The annual award, now in its 14th year, is an honor bestowed upon five of the most innovative, engaging and creative young Jewish educators in the community. From music to Hebrew language studies, Jewish studies to Israel education, and beyond, this is an opportunity to recognize talented educators who go the extra mile and bring vibrancy to Jewish education. Recipients will receive a $1,000 professional development stipend and public recognition at The Jewish Education Project’s spring event on May 21, 2025.
“We are thrilled to honor young educators who make Jewish learning meaningful and engaging for their learners and will help create compelling Jewish education in the future,” said Susan Wachsstock, executive director of The Jewish Education Project. “Over the last 15 months in particular, Jewish educators have gone above and beyond even their usual tireless efforts. The Robert M. Sherman Young Pioneers Award is a way for us to express our gratitude and celebrate all they do to support the community.”
To be considered for this award, candidates must submit a nominee form and have a colleague submit a nomination form on the candidate’s behalf. Both forms must be received by Jan. 31, 2025, and can be submitted in either order.
