(Courtesy of JFSCNJ) The Jewish Family Service of Central New Jersey (JFSCNJ) gala dinner will take place Tuesday, December 12, at 6 p.m. at the Crystal Plaza, Livingston. The gala dinner is the main fundraiser that supports mental health, homecare, keeping older adults safe and food insecurity programs that serve the Union County community. Danny Matarese, Danco General Contracting (Marlboro); Carol and Michael Kurtz (Livingston); Gerri Rothfleisch (Westfield); and Kimberly Palmieri-Mouded (Westfield), vice chair, Union County board of county commissioners will be honored for their various contributions to the agency and to the community.
Marty Axelrad, Seth Huttel, Dana Langerman and Meir Levi will receive awards for their work with the JFSCNJ Charlotte Shak Food Pantry.
Seth Huttel, who joined the JFSCNJ board in June 2023, initially began volunteering at the JFSCNJ Charlotte Shak Food Pantry. He has since become involved in Tomchei Shabbos of Elizabeth, Hillside and Springfield delivering food items bi-monthly to families in need. As a member of Congregation Israel of Springfield, Seth enlisted many fellow congregants to participate in a holiday initiative he spearheaded, coordinating the delivery of packages to a few dozen Holocaust Survivors for each Jewish holiday.
Radio personality Bill Spadea will be a guest speaker.
