Jewish Family Service of MetroWest New Jersey (JFS) continues its free parenting series, The Parent Academy, for parents of children of varying ages, throughout the 2022-2023 school year.
June’s Parent Academy, “Technology & Social Media,” will be taking place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, at the JFS Florham Park office located at 256 Columbia Turnpike, Suite 105.
Topics that will be covered include:
Understanding how technology can impact well-being, learning, and self-esteem
Setting healthy limits, supporting and guiding teens to use technology responsibly and safely
Recognizing the importance of face-to-face interactions, physical activity, and outdoor time
The workshop will be facilitated by Kim Clerie, LSW. Kim is a JFS clinician providing mental health services to families. Sheworks directly with children, teens, and their families, focusing on mental and emotional well-being, family dynamics, increasing self-confidence and providing coping strategies to decrease anxiety and depression symptoms.
