JFS of Middlesex county is currently seeking volunteers for the following tasks:

Health Care

1. Train to be a hospice volunteer at Wilf Campus.

2. Train to be a diabetes educator.

3. Train to be a patient advocate.

4. Serve as a host or hostess for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

5. Learn to be a Healthy Bones instructor and teach at various senior centers.

6. Train to be a State Health Insurance Assistance Program counselor.

7. Serve as a docent for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Career Services

1. Teach workshops including career planning, resume writing, interviewing, computer training, financial training and life skills.

2. Perform research tasks on an as-needed basis.

3. Perform scheduling tasks for the county-wide Women’s Center.

Food Services

1. Stock food pantries.

2. Deliver Meals on Wheels.

Friendly Visitors/Telephone Reassurance

1. Serve as a friendly visitor to a lonely senior.

2. Call seniors to ensure that they have received their Meals on Wheels and serve as a check to ensure that their health is ok. Follow up if there are any health issues.

Office Workers

1. Perform data entry tasks for various senior centers.

2. Make follow-up phone calls on an as-needed basis.

3. Perform office tasks such as filing, addressing and sending out envelopes, etc.

Create Crafts

1. Knit, crochet or quilt for veterans, newborn babies, hospital patients etc.

Building Assistance

1. Help rebuild homes destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.
