Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey Wins Grant for PJ Library Ambassadors

Federation now taking applications for freelance ambassadors positions.

(Courtesy of The Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey) Families raising Jewish children in Monmouth and Greater Middlesex counties will now have more opportunities to participate in Jewish communal activities in their area, thanks to a grant recently awarded by PJ Library®’s Harold Grinspoon Foundation to Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey.

Jewish Federation received the grant to launch the PJ Library Parent Ambassadors Program. Four parent ambassadors will be hired to connect families with each other and the wider Jewish community through small-scale programs, social opportunities and home-based gatherings meeting the needs of the families.

“Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey is honored to partner with The Harold Grinspoon Foundation to bring PJ Library books, music and events to approximately 3,000 children in our local area,” said Susan Antman, Federation’s executive director. “PJ Library enables us to nurture children’s Jewish identity, and this new Parent Ambassadors Grant builds on that success, investing further in a strong Jewish future by connecting more children and their families to Jewish community, tradition and joy.”

Applications are now being accepted for the four ambassador positions. PJ Library parents are invited to learn more about the 24-hour-per-month freelance positions at jewishheartnj.org/ambassadors. Parents of children ages 6 months to 11 years can find current PJ Library activities on the Jewish community calendar at www.jewishheartnj.org/events.
