With anti-Semitism on the rise and incidents of hate and bias increasing, safety and security are top of mind for Jewish individuals, organizations and synagogues. Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey has made safety and security training a top priority. At the recent Safety and Security Summit, free training program dates were announced and this is the first for the 2020 year.

“Training on how to respond during a crisis is one of the most effective tools to mitigate an incident,” said Debbie Gottlieb, manager, community purchasing. “At Federation, we will be offering free training programs throughout the year to help ensure the safety and security of our community.”

The next training program for the community is called “Stop the Bleed” and will take place on February 11—free of charge.

“Stop the Bleed” is a national awareness campaign to encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. A life can be saved by learning how to stop bleeding in a crisis situation.

The “Stop the Bleed” program is open to the entire community and will be held on Wednesday, February 11, at Federation offices at 50 Eisenhower Drive, Paramus, 6:30-9:00 p.m. Participants must be over the age of 16. There will be hands-on demonstrations and participants can pre-order their own trauma bag with online registration at www.jfnnj.org/stopthebleed.
