Jewish Federations Announce New Co-Chairs of National Young Leadership Cabinet

(Courtesy of Jewish Federation of North America) Jewish Federations of North America are proud to announce the selection of Brett Tanzman (Greater MetroWest NJ) and Danielle Gross (Phoenix) as incoming National Young Leadership Cabinet co-chairs. The pair will work together to build young leadership capacity across the Jewish world and strengthen the position of cabinet members in the Federation system. Their term will begin on the first of July.

Tanzman serves on the board of trustees of Jewish Federation of Greater Metrowest NJ in Whippany, New Jersey and currently chairs its security advisory council. He is vice-chair of the board of trustees of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Foundation in New Brunswick, New Jersey and is a past chair for philanthropy of the National Young Leadership Cabinet. He lives in Millburn, New Jersey with his wife and three daughters.

“As we march forward into our 60th year of the National Young Leadership Cabinet, my goal as a co-chair of this incredible organization is to continue this amazing tradition by elevating the Cabinet experience and deepening and strengthening the collective communal action throughout the entire Federation system” said Tanzman. “The power of this collective is what makes Cabinet so unique and special, and it is this collective that will continue to have an enormous impact on our local Jewish communities, on Israel, and throughout the world — not just today and tomorrow, but for generations to come.”

National Young Leadership Cabinet is the Jewish Federation’s premier young leadership development program that inspires the next generation of global Jewish leaders toward philanthropy, communal engagement and activism. Cabinet has helped form six decades of Jewish leaders and philanthropists and has more than 450 current members and 4,200 alumni who foster flourishing Jewish communities across North America and around the globe. In 2022, cabinet members raised over $3.725 million for their local federation’s annual campaigns, representing the largest cabinet campaign in Jewish Federation history.

Senior Director of National Young Leadership Cabinet Ben Schindler said, “Danielle and Brett have demonstrated impressive leadership in their local communities and in Cabinet by increasing overall engagement and philanthropy and by connecting more young leaders to Federations’ work. I have no doubt that Danielle and Brett will follow the tremendous leadership of Cabinet Co-Chairs Lauren Danneman and Jacob Shapiro and continue to grow our impact and inspire more young Jewish leaders to serve, learn and be prepared to lead. In leading Cabinet’s largest-ever membership, they will galvanize the next generation of Jewish leadership to build flourishing Jewish communities and lead with purpose.”
